I Love Locks

I LOVE LOCKS is a children’s primer book celebrating African heritage as expressed in the ancient natural hairstyle referred to as locks. Born in Jamaica and residing in Ethiopia, author, Dr. Mama Desta was concerned about the lack of books featuring children of African ancestry, celebrating culture including natural hair, African attire and other forms of heritage. 

I LOVE LOCKS is another tool for ALL children, parents and educators to explore and celebrate the diversity of our global community while ensuring that ALL children know they are special and beautiful, as is their culture, language and look.
